6. And finally again we haven’t shown it, but when you come to choose a tyre you’ll most likely see a letter at the end of the size, this refers to the speed rating at which it is suitable for. For example V is a tyre that has been rated for 149mph.

Aside from the size of the actual tyre there are a number of other markings that you’ll see on the level or product description on the website, the information below tells you all you need to know about these.

Fuel Efficiency

This rating goes from A to G and gives you an idea of the fuel efficiency of the tyre. The rating is based on the resistance that the tyre generates or “rolling resistance” to be specific. This is the force that is generated and working against the movement of the car therefore making the car work harder to cover a distance.
